About this tool
This Georgia paycheck calculator shows what actually lands in your bank account each payday. Put in your salary or hourly rate and it takes out federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare and Georgia state tax, then shows your take-home pay per paycheck and for the whole year. It uses the same 2026 numbers your employer's payroll software does: the IRS Publication 15-T withholding tables and the Georgia Department of Revenue's 2026 withholding rules. Georgia moved to a flat 4.99% income tax in 2026, down from 5.19%, so if you got a raise or changed jobs this year it's worth running the numbers again. Before the 4.99% applies, Georgia lets you subtract a $15,000 standard deduction if you're single, $30,000 if you're married, and $5,000 for each dependent. That means someone earning $60,000 pays about $2,245 a year in Georgia income tax, not the $2,994 you'd get from 4.99% of the whole salary. You can also use it as a Georgia salary calculator when you're comparing job offers: change the salary and watch the per-paycheck amount move. If your company pays you every two weeks, twice a month, weekly or monthly, pick that option and the results switch to match. Payroll teams can use it as a quick Georgia payroll calculator to sanity-check a pay stub. Keep in mind it estimates withholding. Your real tax bill is settled when you file, and things like bonuses, side income or extra withholding on your W-4 will change it.
How to use
Leave the state on Georgia, or pick another state if you're comparing. Choose Salary or Hourly, then enter your annual salary or your hourly rate and the hours you work each week. Pick how often you're paid and your filing status. Add the number of children under 17 and any other dependents, since both lower your federal withholding and each one takes $5,000 off your Georgia taxable pay. If you put money into a 401(k) or pay health insurance through work before taxes, add those too. They come out before income tax, so they lower your tax as well as your paycheck. Your take-home pay updates as you type, with a line-by-line breakdown per paycheck and per year, your effective tax rate and your federal tax bracket.
