What we publish, where the numbers come from, and what we do when we get something wrong.

What we publish
QuillsCraft publishes explainers and comparisons for people who are about to make a decision. Which trade pays better. Whether a four-year enlistment is worth it. What a repair costs before you book it. Which beach charges for a tag and which one does not.
We cover travel, careers and the trades, consumer technology, money and current affairs. Every article is written for a reader who wants the answer and the reasoning behind it, not a list padded out to reach a word count.
Where our facts come from
We work from primary sources. That means wage data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics rather than a salary aggregator, fees from the town that charges them, benefit rules from the agency that administers them, and specifications from the company that makes the product.
When a claim rests on a specific number, rule or date, we link the page that carries it, so you can check it yourself in one click. If two credible sources disagree, we say so rather than picking the more convenient figure.
Prices and fees are given in US dollars and dated, because they change. An article that quotes a 2026 fee is telling you what that fee was in 2026.
Research, not hands-on testing
Most of our comparisons are researched rather than tested in a lab or on the road. We say so in the article when it matters. We do not claim to have visited a place, driven a vehicle, worn a jacket or timed a trail unless that actually happened.
We also do not invent reader stories, quotes or credentials to make a piece feel more authoritative. If we have not verified something, the article says it is unverified.
How articles are produced and reviewed
A piece starts with the question a reader is actually searching for. We then gather the primary sources, check what existing coverage gets wrong or leaves out, and write from the research rather than from other articles.
We use software tools in the research and drafting process. Every article is reviewed and edited by a person before it goes live, and a human is responsible for every factual claim we publish. Tools do not decide what we publish.
Articles are written by named authors. You can see everything an author has written on their author page, linked from the byline on each article.
Updates and corrections
Fees rise, models get discontinued, rules change. We update articles when the facts move, and the updated date on the article reflects that.
If you find an error, tell us through the contact page and include the article and the specific claim. We check it against the source. If we got it wrong, we fix it and note the change where the correction is significant enough to affect a reader's decision.
Advertising and independence
QuillsCraft carries advertising, and some articles may contain affiliate links. Advertisers have no say in what we cover or what we conclude. No advertiser sees an article before it is published.
A recommendation is never sold. Where a link earns us a commission, the terms are set out in our Terms of Service, and how advertising cookies work is covered in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
What we are not
We are not a substitute for professional advice. Our articles about pay, benefits, health, money and legal rules are general information. Your own situation can turn on details we cannot see, so check with a qualified professional before acting on anything with real consequences.
Images
Photographs are licensed stock or official press images, credited where the licence asks for it. We do not present a stock photo as a picture of a specific person, place or product when it is not.
